How 'Gum Leaves with Chrysanthemums' was Crafted.

    Step 1

    On a blue background the leaves and bowl of chrysanthemums were drawn in using hard pastels.

    Step 2

    Continue working all over the painting. Hard pastels are used on the leaves, hard and soft pastels on the flowers.

    The background and blue vase were added with soft pastel.

    Step 3

    The gumnuts are drawn in using hard and soft pastels plus the shadows on the table are indicated.

    Step 4

    Last of all the loose flowers have been placed on the table and painted in, also the cloth pattern is added.

    Finally, finishing touches and highlights are added to the whole painting.
