How 'Enamelware & Nasturtiums' was Crafted.

    Step 1

    The Aluminium oxide surface is painted with blue gouache, when dry the details of the still life are roughly blocked in with the approximate colours.

    Step 2

    The background is pastelled in with Prussian blue and the details of the enamelware is built up.

    Step 3

    The Aluminium Oxide surface has excellent tooth and it can take a solid coat of pastel colour.

    Step 4

    The Flowers are added in last since they would be shriveled if put in the original still life set up.

    Now when much of the rest is at a finished stage, the flowers can be quickly finished.
